Five New Jobs at Ushahidi!

Ushahidi
Sep 1, 2014

This week we put five new positions up on the Ushahidi Jobs page. Exciting stuff happening in the Ushaverse. Let me kick off this post with a caveat. At Ushahidi, we don’t hire for specific skills and often purposefully keep our role definitions grey. At Ushahidi we hire for awesome. We look for people who are passionate about our work and add a new blend to our team and culture. It doesn't matter where you live and when you work - as long as you are committed to delivering quality products for global good you will fit right in. That said, we are looking to bring on three highly-skilled, super slick ninjas to join some of our most exciting development teams. We are looking for a developer to work on our flagship Ushahidi Platform: V3 product. This role will involve working closely with a group of early users and testers, learning from them, and helping to customize the platform to these case studies. We are looking for a developer who has experience building applications for processing data. This role will work across a number of our teams and tools to build out the data management capacities of our products. We are looking for a creative data visualization engineer. At the end of the day, we build tools that give people voice and tell stories from their testimonies. This role will focus on bringing data to life, to help tell stories to change the minds of decision makers. In addition we are expanding our business and community teams. We are bringing on a Business Development Manager to help build the services around our products. Our software is open source but we offer services around our products, which is what keeps our lights on. We are also looking to bring on more hands for our community engagement, outreach, and marketing initiatives. As we launch new features and new products, it becomes so much  more important to inform as many people as possible about these tools --  so more people can start using these tools for good, to improve lives and to make a difference. Come join us, won't you? Take a look at these jobs and apply!
